top tens of 2004

this is more for me to post the lists so i can save them....

BEST OF 2004
first, my runners-up -
Collateral, Ray, Saved, and the Notebook

10. Spanglish - a lot of 3rd act problems but i still enjoyed it.

9. Friday Night Lights - a surprisingly good little movie. looked
gorgeous too.

8. Garden State - nice feeling...the best natalie portman's ever
been...i love peter saarsgard.

7. 13 Going on 30 - i know what you're going to say, but i loved this
movie! mark ruffalo rules and jennifer garner is charming. so there.

6. Kill Bill vol. 2 - man, quentin rules. and he makes uma rule
somehow. i wish more directors cared about what they were putting up on
the screen.

5. Million Dollar Baby - a great movie and hilary swank was awesome.
but damn, i was depressed for days.

4. Finding Neverland - awwww, so nice.

3. In Good Company - i can't decide if i'm more in love with dennis
quaid or topher grace. or this soundtrack.

2. Sideways - funny, simple, good characters, not all pretty people.

1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - my favorite movie by far.
brilliant script, acting, filmmaking, production design, etc. enough
said.

WORST OF 2004
10. Aviator - yeah, it's a "good" movie in that the costumes are nice,
the production design is nice, the costumes are good i suppose...but it
still sucked. story, characters, acting. lacking. plus an hour too
long.

9. Hotel Rwanda - this is getting critical raves only because it deals
with an "important" subject matter. considering the subject matter, i
should have been bawling my eyes out. and i didn't shed a tear. there's
something wrong with that.

8. bridget jones 2 - man, it's obviously hard to make a sequel to a
romantic comedy

7. mean girls - so, so, soooo overrated. i've seen about a billion
better high school movies.

6. P.S. - yes, topher grace is charming as hell. but damn this movie
was boring and laura linney should just take a break.

5. Day After Tomorrow - two words.... rabid wolves.

4. De-Lovely - god, i should have liked this movie. i love musicals.
but kevin kline was embarassing and the movie was boring as hell.

3. Dodgeball - saw it on the plane. so i couldn't run out and escape
it. man, i am so over ben stiller. painful.

2. spiderman 2 - egan was right. this sucked big time. awful.

1. christmas with the kranks - saw it for free. how they managed to
fuck up a christmas movie, i'll never know. but this movie was so so so
bad, that it almost ruined my holiday.
