the buddy system

getting along well with your boss is a good thing. but there is such a thing as getting along too well with your boss. as in, i start getting comfortable and start talking to him like he's my 25 year-old friend. then of course comes the usual sarcasm, and insulting, and biting tongue. all in a funny way of course. but still. every now and then i slip and i hear some really sarcastic comment come out of my mouth. and i know i've gone a tad too far because i see a quick look pass over his face like, 'what in the hell did my assistant just say to me?' then i try to play it off and it's all fine. i think.
