my pals, brad and jen

the most shocking thing to me about this whole brad and jen thing (come on, you knew i was going to mention it), is not that they broke up. but that it happened on friday and i didn't find out until MONDAY. i mean, jesus! i used to know about these things! i was the girl that knew. was constantly reading the trashy gossip websites and up to date on who's sleeping with whom. i'm so disappointed in myself. it's depressing. if i don't have entertainment knowledge, what do i have?

luckily, i was able to cheer myself up with some of these hysterical quotes from celebs and "real people" about the historic brad and jen breakup:

"I'm shocked."
- Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc to Access Hollywood

"This is the kind of Hollywood marriage that I thought we'd be talking about 20 years from now as one of the great ones, but then again isn't it breakups like this that make us remember them later?"
- Scott Cooper, 30, Dallas

"I really thought this couple would be announcing that they were expecting, rather than separating."
- Nadia Saah, 18, Silver Spring, MD

"Their professions of love rang true. It seems like they lost something real when they split."
- Leslie Wainger, 50, Norwalk, CT

"We definitely have sympathy for what they're going through right now, because you know that everybody's going to talk about it and there's going to be a million different reasons why and nobody's really going to know the truth."
- Singer Jessica Simpson at Sunday's People's Choice Awards

"This is going to push 150,000 people dead from a tsunami right off the front pages."
- Jenny Skinner, 36, Akron, OH

and my FAVORITE....

"My first thought was, 'If they can't make it, what chance do I have?' "
- Andrea Boyan, 23, Dayton, OH

what chance indeed.
