pregnant ladies
That was apparently the theme of the weekend. speakmemory was in town and, apparently much to some people's disappointment, she wasn't all bloated and fat. In fact, I'd say she was downright cute and looked totally the same but with a little round belly. The baby shower was an afternoon tea at a tea house and it was quite lovely. I don't think I'd ever experienced a real formal tea but I would highly recommend it. Every course was more delicious than the next and I probably drank about 10 cups of tea. The mound of presents was overwhelming but Taryn managed to handle it and, all in all, made out quite well.
Later that night there was a co-ed sushi outing and, let me tell you, I've found my new favorite San Diego sushi restaurant. Absolutely delicious. As usual, I wanted to bring the party (ha!) so I ended up having a few sakes. Some may say that I was drunk. I would not. Regardless, I was having a good time when we made the shift to the wine bar down the street. I was hoping to have many adorable tea party shower pictures but all I ended up with was this ridiculous picture from the wine bar. Actually, there were a few more pictures from the bar but nothing anyone needs to see.

I miss my friend. All of you in Madison should be grateful that you have her in your midst. I believe at one point during the evening I told her that I was disappointed that she was still exactly the same because I was looking forward to having a new friend. Alright, after typing that, I may have to admit that I was, in fact, quite drunk that night.
