the workplace
As my film drags on and on AND ON, everyone becomes more and more annoyed. People are tired of each other, they're tired of this movie, and they are tired of the same disorganization and lack of inspiration. When this is all said and done it will be my longest freelance job by far. All of us are counting the days until we can move onto something else. I started thinking about all of this today because today we had to escort around a couple of boys who had entered an internet contest to win a set visit. People (maybe thousands of people?) spent their time and effort to try to win the chance to visit my workplace. These boys were so excited. And then there's the Make-A-Wish kids. Truly, truly heartbreaking. We've had about 5 different Make-A-Wish kids visit the set during our shoot. You can't believe how their eyes lit up when they got to meet our actors and got free swag. I just can't believe how myself and the crew can complain about coming to work when, to outsiders, it's a pretty sweet place. I mean, we're complaining and last week we got free massages on set. We bitch about the long hours but we get a 4 course lunch every day with gourmet food. Then there's the fact that we always have weird guests... Donald Trump, Maria Shriver, Howie Mandel, and Hugh Jackman. Oh, and Jessica Simpon's creepy father. I guess my job is sweet after all.
