cubicle home decorating

so i'm torn. my cubicle walls are bare and they need some life. actually, i guess i have a lot of work stuff up - calendars, schedules, crew list, etc. but i feel like i could use a touch of personal stuff to add a little color.

BUT, at the same time, i'm often horrified by the lame things that people decorate their walls with. okay, maybe not lame. that's not the right word. but just things that may freak out people who you don't really know at work. i was sitting at this girls desk the other day and noticed 4 photos of her cat. her cat!! and it was just of her cat. no people are in the pictures! why does she need four? there's this other dude at work who has this magazine pic of diane lane in a sexy pose. huh? doesn't this belong in your bedroom? should we all have to see this?

but the biggest question of them all has to be about photos of your significant other. LOTS of people do this. guys and girls. right there, next to their computer, a little picture of the boyfriend or girlfriend. is this cool? i mean, on one hand it's nice and why the hell not if you are in love. but on the other hand, it's like, are you just trying to tell your co-workers that you're not single? that you can't bear to not see some guy's face for more than 2 hours?

i don't know the right answer, but i will tell you what 4 things i currently have up in my cubicle to add a little life to the drab, gray walls:

3 photos that i took while in the sequoia national forest - lots of red and yellow leaves and trees.
1 photo of me, john, and little sis julie

that's all. i hope that doesn't make me too much of a freak.
