a weekend of entertainment

this weekend was full of interesting movies and tv shows. in fact, i'd say that it was a great weekend for the entertainment industry. here are some of my highlights....

Intolerable Cruelty
this was a great movie. really funny and enjoyable. if you haven't seen it yet, go. it's not deep, it doesn't have an earth-shattering message, but it is fun. it's a romantic comedy but with the coen brothers twist and it's good. trust me, if john really enjoyed it and laughed at it, it's damn good.

Kill Bill
great kung-fu movie. the action was exciting and it looked great. but does that really make a wonderful movie? well, it makes a good movie but not a fantastic one. definitely not quentin's best. maybe if it had a story or some witty dialogue, it could be called awesome. but not as a kung-fu movie. but it's still good. and still worth seeing. and isn't uma thurman weird looking? i like her but she's weird looking.

carnivale
this is an awesome hbo show. a lot of you don't get hbo but if you did, you'd love it. taryn, i'm talking to you. it's been described as a 'twin peaks' type of show and it is. not that good of course, but still great. it's definitely slow moving but there are some great characters. and if you love bearded ladies, midgets, and naked overweight chicks, this is the show for you.
