canadians are slackers
interaction between myself and the new security guard outside my building on friday night...7:02pm...fyi, the guy sounds like he was born and raised in america:
guy (holding open the door): have a good weekend!
me: you too.
guy: hey, are you canadian?
me: nope. (smiling...questioning look 'why?')
guy: oh, you just look canadian.
me: really? (now i'm curious) do canadians look different than americans?
guy: yeah, they dress differently.
me: really? (thinking 'well, it's casually friday and i'm dressed like a slacker in jeans, sneakers and a ponytail...so i guess all canadians are slobs.')
guy: yeah, you just look canadian.
me: okay? is that an insult?
guy: so you're american?
me: yeah.
guy: no, it's not an insult. i love americans. they're great. it's so great to be an american. america is the best place.
me: um, yeah. have a good weekend.
and then i ran off. i don't think i look canadian. but then again, i don't know how canadians look different than americans. maybe i'm proud to look canadian. lots of cool people are canadians, aren't they?
