linoleum nightmare

Last night I had a nightmare. A pretty vivid one...or at least I remember it well because my alarm went off so early, in the middle of my heavy sleep. We finally get our new house keys later this evening so last night I must have been thinking about it. My dream consisted of walking into our new house and then realizing that it didn't look the same as when we bought it. It looked like it would have before the current owners remodeled it. There was cracking linoleum floor in the kitchen, the bathrooms looked like public park restrooms, and the backyard was all weeds. All of this is burned into my memory only because my reaction in the dream was so extreme. I just remember sobbing and having a breakdown...screaming at my realtor that the owners had taken everything with them. I couldn't control myself...After spending so much money I couldn't even begin to hold it together. And my anger and despair was so palpable that I woke up feeling so stressed that my new house was a dump.

Let's hope tonight goes a little bit better than the dream.

shamu

last night i had a vivid dream that i can actually remember. i think i can only remember it so well because my alarm went off so early and interrupted some serious REM sleep.

john and i were at sea world and went to see the shamu show. we didn't sit in the blue bleachers at the front (the wet zone) but sat in the first row behind the blue. i was excited to see the show but as it was about to start, i kept pulling on john's shirt and saying anxiously, 'i think we're going to get wet...i think we're going to get wet.'

then the alarm went off.

quick observations and notes

i've been swamped at my new job which is good, but i've had these tiny things i've been meaning to blog about. and of course each tiny thing doesn't constitute a whole blog post (or does it?) but if you COMBINE them, wow. you've got something.

i was in walgreens pharmacy the other day and saw that they were selling this tube of something called "the pimple eraser". catchy name. the ad below it made the incredible claim that the "pimple disappears after just 5 days of use!!" um, excuse me? anyone that's had a pimple knows that it will usually disappear on it's own after 5 days! 5 days is an eternity. yet some dumbass was paying $20 for this miracle cream.

last night i had a dream about snakes. i guess it was a nightmare. and not the little slithery snakes. like huge ass anacondas that can swallow you whole. i escaped one of them in the parking lot by ripping it open with my car key. it was nice. and gory. i couldn't figure out why i was dreaming about snakes. but then i remembered what john and i were joking about before i went to bed. Snakes on a Plane starring Samuel L. Jackson. seriously. This is the plot description: On board a flight over the Pacific Ocean, an assassin, bent on killing a passenger who's a witness in protective custody, let loose a crate full of deadly snakes. i couldn't make this shit up.

seen some sweet c and d list celebrities lately. we've got casting sessions going on in our office so they come in everyday. for those who liked 40-year old virgin we've got the fat kid from the e-bay store who was buying go-go boots as well as elizabeth banks who played the kinky girl in the bathtub. other notables? jessica biel (i wanted to call her the female maverick but i held back), piper perabo (i almost told her all about my own coyote ugly experience), and claire from 90210 (i wanted to play her my cell phone ring of the show's theme but i was too embarassed).

st. patty's day (or as i like to call it, madness kick-off day....and other updates

so a couple of things,

1. i'm not wearing green. i don't think i own anything green. maybe one sweater. and it's too hot for that. but i really thought that i had gotten old enough so that all my co-workers wouldn't ask me "where's your green!?" umm, yeah. apparently people haven't gotten over that and still like to say it even though they're 40 year-old executives. i even got pinched.

2. my brackets are driving me crazy! it's madness, baby!

3. i had a weird dream last night that nicolas cage was my boss and that he was very friendly to me and my family. i know it was only because the last thing i saw before i turned off the tv at midnight last night was 'gone in sixty seconds', but still. yuck. at least he's italian i guess.

4. i was talking to my boss' babysitter today and she said when she asks the gay son (the 9 year-old...you remember) what he wants to do, he usually exclaims, 'go to the mall and look at the shoes on sale!'
